When using a stirwand, how long do I have to Stir the water for?

For a container of water up to 1 gallon in size stirring with the Stirwand for 10-15 seconds is sufficient.

For 5 gallons I would double this and for larger than 5 gallons I would prefer to have a designated wand that stays in the vessel of water but would still circulate the water in some manner every so often. One way that I do this is to tie a fishing line to the wand, then when I want to circulate the water I use the fishing line to move the wand in the water.

For industrial use you should use one wand per 500 gallons of water. These can be used in ponds and lakes to maintain a good balance of algae growth (use of Stirwands tends to suppress over abundant algae).
